Fickett is special because…

We continue to provide a high-performing elementary school in an urban environment. Recognizing this, Fickett faculty, parents and corporate partners believe that our programs should be designed to meet the needs of each child.

• We differentiate our instructional practices to address the needs of all learners. Our students enjoy the 21^st Century UPS Technology Labs, 30 scholar-tutors from the Atlanta University Center and Georgia Tech, and the HOPE Worldwide Super Saturday Trojan Academy. Fickett Students are exposed to The Model French Program in grades K-5.

• We are a uniform school. The students dress in the school colors: Royal Blue, White and Gold polo tops. On Thursdays our entire Fickett community “Dresses for Success” by dressing up to get ready for the business world.

• Our School Reform Model is Direct Instruction. This model is research-based and data driven will allow for greater improvements in the area of Reading for every student.

• We are a “Hands-On” school. The teachers at Fickett provide weekly hands on activities for our students. The students learn through experience whether it be a weekly science experiment or a 21^st century technology lesson.

• 100% of Fickett’s teacher’s are highly-qualified based on the NCLB standards.
